People saved more in health savings accounts in 2020

In 2020, people saved more in health savings accounts (HSAs) than they took out, according to a new report. The average total employee contribution was $2,054, the research group found. Also, the number of unfunded accounts fell to 18% in 2020 from 21% in 2019. Individuals enrolled in high-deductible health plans may be eligible for an HSA.
